But Jesus said, Allow the little children and do not prevent them from coming to Me, for of such is the kingdom of the heaven. -Matt 19:14
Overview
Who are we? We (mostly parents) take turns to care for our children during the Sunday morning meeting, so that other parents can attend the meeting, receive spiritual nourishment, and participate in the building up of the church. Beginning with preschool and continuing through 6th grade, we enjoy singing, memory verses, and age-appropriate lessons regarding proper character and the Bible.
Preschool–1st Grade: Creation, Men as vessels to contain God and Proper Characters
For the children in preschool through kindergarten, we teach about God’s creation to instill an appreciation and love for God our Creator. We discuss proper characters such as “Diligence”, “Patience”, ”Sharing”, “Kindness”, “Peacefulness”, “Cleanness” etc. This is important because character determines how useful people are to themselves, their families, to society, and even to God.
2nd Grade: Proper Relationships & God’s Calling in Old Testament
We discuss proper relationship in a family, in school, in society and under government so that they will learn to appreciate each other and interact with others properly. The lessons of God’s Calling in Old Testament provide an overview of the Bible by showing some examples of certain ones who heard God’s calling and cooperated with God. This also plants some seeds for the gospel: “God called Abraham, some day God will call you.”
3rd–4th Grades: God’s Calling in the Old Testament & New Testament, 10 Commandments
We continued the God’s Calling from Old Testament to New Testament. In which we so many followers of Christ experiencing Him as their Life, Supplies and leading.
5th Grade: The Ministry of Jesus Meets All Man’s Needs
In fifth grade we review how Jesus meets all man’s needs. Jesus loves and reaches out to all of mankind. Examples are Nicodemus (high class), the Samaritan woman (a sinner), the sick, the strong, the rich, the poor. Everyone needs Jesus.
6th Grade: The Truth and Experience of God’s Salvation
Finally, in 6th grade, we review the truth and experience of God’s salvation. This is the time that we, along with the parents, share the gospel directly and look for a genuine salvation experience within each child. Our prayer is that each child is genuinely saved and baptized before they graduate from 6th grade, and that the truth imparted would preserve them through junior & senior high school and college. “Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against Thee” (Psalm 119:11).
Parents, Babies, and Toddlers
We care for the children during the Sunday morning meeting, so that the parents can attend the meeting. For the babies and toddlers, we provide babysitting service in a loving environment so the parents can enjoy the adult meetings.
Summer Camp
From the year of 2009 we run week long Summer Camp annually to our local community children. In the camp our children sing hymns, learn bible stories, enjoy hands on art project, preparing skits, props for camp presentation, indoor and outdoor activities. In mixed age setting they learn to accommodate to each other. The camp provide volunteer program to junior and High school students as counselors and team teachers. So far we have covered “ Genuine-Exact-Strict”, “Diligent-Broad-Fine”, “Stable-Patience-Deep” and “Pure-Just-Calm”. This year summer camp is “Single-Corporate-Open”.
